Hello! My name is Angie Tofteland. I attended school at Mankato State University (now Minnesota State University). I have a degree in Elementary Education k-6 and in Special Education k-12. I have been working with children since 1995. I have worked with all types and ages of children and have loved every job I have held! My experience includes being a special education teacher, a preschool teacher, a kindergarten wrap-around teacher, and an administrator for child care centers. I was born and raised in Luverne, Minnesota but I lived in Ohio for 15 years and decided it was time to move back home in the summer of 2013. I was thrilled and honored to be offered the Kindergarten teaching position here at Pipestone and have enjoyed every year! I am married to my amazing husband Troy and I have 3 children, Stephen, Zakk, and Josh. I also have 3 step-children, Breanna, Brittany, and Jacob. I have a beautiful granddaughter Taylor and a handsome grandson Justin along with a wonderful step grandson Kyan who are the apples of my eye! I am looking forward to the school year and everything it may bring! |
Benefits of Junior Kindergarten:The Junior Kindergarten program is the perfect stepping stone for kindergarten. If your child is age five but on the younger side, or you feel he or she may not be ready for the demands of kindergarten, Junior Kindergarten is an excellent solution. By choosing early learning, you ensure your child’s brain is as healthy and active as it should be for their age. Plus, they will become acquainted with the structure of kindergarten classes in advance, so there are no surprises the following year. They will receive the resources and vital support they need to accomplish scholastic tasks, including following multi-step instructions, controlling impulses, remaining concentrated, organizing work, and problem-solving in a multidimensional way. Along the way, they will learn the crucial skills they need for further academic growth. Over the course of the year, they will be taught number sense, how to count, recognizing letters and sounds, beginning to read and write, comprehending texts, and much more. By pacing the class to the needs of students, we are able to focus on the areas where children are best able to grow.   |
